I am concerned about confidentiality issues, for example in regards to insurance/mortgage applications.

Due to strict patient confidentiality we would never disclose details of your attendance without your consent. Many clients choose to use false names, addresses and dates of birth to provide even more confidentiality. Please note that continuity of care is a fundamental principle of good medical practice so if you choose to use false details,you must then continue to use these for future attendances. Also, we can only issue test result certificates for the details that you have provide us with.

If you decide to take the approach of using false details, please remember your full name, address (including postcode) and date of birth.
This information will also be required by the pharmacy you decide to use for any possible prescriptions.

How do I get to Confidential Doctor?

To reach us: Our Harley Street clinic is well-served by public transport (nearest tube Oxford Circus), and the underground NCP car park in Cavendish Square puts you within a couple of minutes walk.

For increased discretion, we will provide our full Harley Street address only when the appointment is booked.

What are your opening hours?

Open 9am - 6pm Weekdays and 9am - 5pm Saturdays.
Evening Clinic until 9pm most Tuesdays and Thursdays.

How do I prepare for an appointment?

For men it is important that you do not pass urine for approximately two to three hours prior to having any tests from the penis.
The reason for this is that if an infection is present, every time you urinate, the bacteria get washed out and take some time to re-accumulate.
Usually within a few hours of urination there will be enough bacteria present to show up on the tests. Please do not drink excessive amounts of tea or coffee before coming in.

For women the bladder should be emptied prior to the examination.

How long will the appointment last?

An appointment lasts approximately 20 minutes. Please try and arrive a few minutes before your appointment time.

How long will my test results take?

It normally takes 3 working days to get your results although this may vary. The HIV test, however, has the option to get results back in fifteen minutes.

Payment

If you are not insured, you are required to pay for the costs of any tests you may have had on the day of your appointment. We accept all major credit cards, cash or cheque. Please report back to reception before leaving the clinic.

Cleanliness

We are proud of our extremely clean environment and adhere to all current health and safety policies.

MRSA

There is no evidence of MRSA at Confidential Doctor.
